HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Effects;

No data available for the mixture. Information presented relates to individual ingredients.

Acute;

Swallowed; Lubricating residue is considered to be non-toxic.

Skin; Lubricating residue is considered to be non-toxic and non irritating. If sprayed directly onto the skin, the solvent may have a degreasing effect which might lead to irritation.

Eyes; lubricating residue is considered to be non-irritant. If sprayed directly into the eyes., solvent carrier may irritate before evaporating.

Inhaled; Both solvent and propellent act as simple asphyxiants, and at high vapour levels may cause loss of consciousness and death from oxygen deprivation.

Chronic; No data.

LD 50; Residue 25,000 mg/kg oral, rat

FIRST AID;

If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre.

Swallowed; If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water.

Skin; If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.

Eyes; If in eyes, hold eyes open, flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.

Inhaled; Remove from exposure. If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration. In severe cases, obtain medical attention

FIRST AID FACILITIES RECOMMENDED;

Eye wash. Hand wash basin.

ADVICE TO DOCTOR

Product is an aerosol containing non-toxic lubricant in a Hydrocarbon Carrier Fluid.

The Carrier Fluid can act as a simple asphyxiant treat symptomatically. Contact Poisons Information Centre.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Limits; [NOHSC]

TLV-TWA; Hexane 50 ppm Air

ENGINEERING CONTROLS;

Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid using in enclosed spaces. Consider local mechanical exhaust/extraction to keep airborne contamination below TLV.

PERSONAL PROTECTION;

Do not spray directly into eyes, mouth or nose. Avoid spraying directly onto the skin. Do not smoke while using this product; solvent vapours drawn into lighted cigarettes will decompose to form toxic products of combustion.

Personal protection to be selected from those recommended below, as appropriate to mode of use, quantity handled and degree of hazard;

Self contained breathing apparatus Supplied-air hood

Face shield or safety glasses Gloves, rubber or plastic Overalls.

FLAMMABILITY;

Lubricating residue not flammable. Solvent vapour/air mixture may be ignited by sparks or naked flame source.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION STORAGE AND TRANSPORT;

Storage Temperature; Room temperature.

UN Class; No Data

Packaging Group; No Data.

UN Number; Carrier Fluid 1208.

EPG Number; No Data

Correct Shipping Name; Silicon Lubricant.

Observe the requirements of Dangerous Goods {Storage and Handling] regulations.

STORAGE ADVICE;

Store in a cool, well ventilated place, out of reach of children. Large quantities should be stored in a dangerous goods store. Store out of direct sunlight. Keep away from naked flames or other sources of ignition. No smoking or welding. Prevent vapours from collecting in enclosed spaces. Protect from physical damage. Attend to leaking cans immediately; avoid secondary accidents.

SPILLS AND DISPOSALS;

Disposal of small spillages only. For large spillages, liquids should be contained using sand or earth, and both liquids and solids then transferred to salvage containers. Residues should be treated as for small spillages.
